Continuously doing a task for long hours and without interruption could be damaging to your back muscles and bone.

It is important for you to take breaks in between tasks. This will give your strained muscles a time to heal. The period of rest depends on how long the muscles have been strain. The longer the time spent for work, the longer the time needed for them to recover. Make sure that you take a rest even when you have not felt any discomfort rather than taking one as a response to it.

Another good way to avoid damage to your back and causing back injuries is by employing the proper body mechanics whenever you perform your tasks. When lifting objects make sure that you keep your feet apart and in line with your shoulders. This will provide you with a wide base of support and prevent you from falling off. Also, do not pick objects by bending on your waist. Bend your knees instead. If the object is too heavy for you to carry alone, ask for assistance.

As long as you follow the simple steps mentioned above you are minimizing your risk from acquiring back injuries. If however, it is inevitable for you not to injure your back be sure that you seek the appropriate health care provider for the necessary measures to be done.
